2. SEA LIFE Brighton
Cool off while discovering fascinating marine creatures at the UK’s oldest operating aquarium. There are interactive rock pools, sharks, and even a glass bottom boat ride.
3. Volks Electric Railway & Brighton Marina
Take a trip on the historic Volks Railway, Britain’s oldest electric railway and head to Brighton Marina. For some healthy competition, head to GLOBALLS, glow in the dark mini golf, or Hollywood Bowl bowling.
4. Hove Park Miniature Railway
Open on select summer weekends, this tiny train ride is a firm favourite with younger children, and parents love it too! Aside from this the park offers open green space, newly renovated play park, climbing rock and a delightful cafe!
5.Embrace Culture & Crafts
Children can dress up at Brighton Pavilion, join cookery club at Preston Manor following WWII recipes, attend art workshops at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, and for teens, a chance to learn hands-on darkroom techniques at Hove Museum. Check the

1. Southover Grange Gardens
Pack a picnic and relax in these beautiful gardens, right in the heart of Lewes. Kids can enjoy the open space, and there's often ice cream or coffee nearby for parents.
2. Railway Land Nature Reserve
Just a short walk from the town centre, this peaceful haven has meadows, riverside walks, and a sensory garden. Look out for summer nature workshops and wildlife spotting activities.
3. Lewes Castle & Museum
Let kids step back in time and explore this medieval castle. The views from the top are incredible, and the museum offers child friendly exhibits and holiday activities.
4. Lewes Depot Family Films

1. Shoreham Beach & Boardwalk
This quieter stretch of coastline is perfect for rock pooling, kite flying, and beach walks. Bring a picnic or stop at one of the cafes nearby.
2. Adur Recreation Ground & Skatepark
Let off steam at this open park with plenty of space for football, cycling, and scooting. The skatepark is popular with older kids and teens.
3. Ropetackle Arts Centre
Ropetackle often runs storytelling sessions, theatre performances, and workshops during the school holidays, a great indoor option on rainy days.
4. Shoreham Fort
Take a short drive or cycle to this hidden gem near the harbour. It’s a great spot for imaginative play and gentle exploration, with beach access and historical info panels.

Macs Farm, Ditchling
Fourth generation, organic egg farming family who really love what they do! The farm is located in the beautiful village of Ditchling. They open up our farm Monday-Saturday for egg sales, every summer for camping and throughout the year for family friendly events.
Middle Farm, Firle
Just outside Lewes, Middle Farm has animals to feed, tractor rides, a play barn, and a farm shop that adults will love too (their cider is legendary!!).
Drusillas Park, Alfriston
A little further afield, but well worth it. This animal and adventure park is packed with rides, soft play, splash zones, and a zoo. Great for a full day out.
Local Libraries
Check local libraries across Sussex for regular story time, and try out various activities including Lego mosaics, knitting, comic book workshops, crochet, and board games!
