Reflecting on a Successful Developer Forum Lunch with United Trust Bank

On Thursday 16th October, we proudly hosted our 4th Annual Developer’s Forum Lunch at the Coal Shed, Brighton with our co-host United Trust Bank. Bringing together industry leaders, the event offered an exceptional platform for networking, sharing insights, and engaging in lively discussions on the UK construction industry.

Insights from Neil Jefferson, CEO of the Home Builders Federation: The future of UK housing

We had the privilege of welcoming Neil Jefferson, CEO of the Home Builders Federation, who recently featured on the BBC Panorama show, as our guest speaker. Neil shared frank insights on the political and planning landscape of the UK housing market. His message was clear: meeting the UK’s housing targets will require bold strategies.

A Special Thanks to United Trust Bank and Our Attendees

Events like this would not be possible without the support of our event partner, United Trust Bank. Their commitment to fostering meaningful connections within the property sector is invaluable, and we’re grateful to Paul Turton, Mark Pannell, and the UTB team for co-hosting this event with us. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many guests who attended, including leaders from Generator Group, Greenplan Designer Homes, Macar Developments, BoKlok, Rego Property, Akehurst Homes, Hollybrook, Superstone Homes, We Build Developments, Jaman Group, Cayuga Homes, Lavender Homes and Greatwave Property.

As Chris Oakley, our CEO, noted,
“It was fascinating to hear first-hand from the perspective of so many of the SME developers we work with, Neil’s commitment to influencing policy at such a critical time for our industry is clear.”

Reflecting on the Value of In-Person Connections

In a world increasingly reliant on virtual meetings, our Developer’s Forum Lunch cements the value of in-person connection and face-to-face communication. As James Epps, Oakley Land & New Homes Director, mentioned, “There’s no substitute for getting people together in a room.” Events like these bring a different level of engagement, where ideas spark and relationships strengthen.

Looking Forward to Next Year’s Event

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Developer’s Forum Lunch, where we’ll continue our tradition of thought leadership and insightful discussions.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s forum a success and to United Trust Bank for their ongoing partnership. We can’t wait to see you all next year!
