Reflecting on a Successful Developer Forum Lunch with United Trust Bank

On Thursday 17th October, we proudly hosted our 3rd Annual Developer’s Forum Lunch at the Brighton Ivy with United Trust Bank. Bringing together industry leaders, the event offered an exceptional platform for networking, sharing insights, and engaging in lively discussions on the UK construction industry.

Insights from Mark Farmer: The State of UK Construction

We had the privilege of welcoming Mark Farmer, founder of Cast Consultancy and author of Modernise or Die, as our guest speaker. Mark shared his insights on the current state of the UK construction industry, encouraging thought-provoking discussions among attendees. His address underscored the need for resilience and adaptability within the sector, especially in light of recent industry changes and disruptions.

A Special Thanks to United Trust Bank and Our Attendees

Events like this would not be possible without the support of our event partner, United Trust Bank. Their commitment to fostering meaningful connections within the property sector is invaluable, and we’re grateful to Paul Turton, Mark Pannell, and the UTB team for co-hosting this event with us. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many guests who attended, including leaders from Lavender Homes, River Oaks Homes, BoKlok, Akehurst Homes, Centurion Group, Hollybrook, Superstone Homes, We Build Developments, Cayuga Homes, MJH Homes, and EG.

As David Beaken, our Lewes Director, noted,
"The UTB Developer Lunch at The Ivy is always one I look forward to getting in the diary. Many of the clients who attend we work with on a daily basis one-to-one, but it is great to get them in a room and see them sharing ideas and experiences. Seeing someone like Mark, who is as knowledgeable and passionate about the construction and development industry, speaking to the room and taking questions is a real treat and an eye-opener!”

Reflecting on the Value of In-Person Connections

In a world increasingly reliant on virtual meetings, our Developer’s Forum Lunch cements the value of in-person connection and face-to-face communication. As David mentioned, “There’s no substitute for getting people together in a room.” Events like these bring a different level of engagement, where ideas spark and relationships strengthen.

Looking Forward to Next Year’s Event

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Developer’s Forum Lunch, where we’ll continue our tradition of thought leadership and insightful discussions.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s forum a success and to United Trust Bank for their ongoing partnership. We can’t wait to see you all next year!
