Our land & New Homes Team were delighted to accept an invite today to visit BoKlok By The Park in Littlehampton and meet with the companies Head of Land & Planning, Anna Harper, for a tour of one of their latest new homes development.
Oakley and BoKlok, which is a joint venture by Skanska and Ikea, are looking to forge stronger local links and find land and new homes opportunities which we can work on together, in the Sussex area.
Chris Oakley commented:
It was fascinating to view the show houses with Anna and see how the MMC offsite construction process translates from the factory construction of the single floor modules, into two storey built houses on site. Anna explained how this has sped up the construction process for BoKlok, from a start on site last October to what looks like a development racing towards practical completion for over 100 units in just one year. Anna also explained that it has meant they have been able to start exchanging on sales almost from the start of construction.
Oakley New Homes are now involved with a number of sites where the MMC process is being employed to deliver new homes that have higher eco credentials than the traditional build route.
The Littlehampton BoKlok project delivers 2 and 3 bed Scandinavian style homes, next to Rosemead Park and buyers will benefit from new homes that are fully fitted with no hidden extras, with all of the homes including flooring throughout, integrated appliances, and energy saving features, as standard, helping families to save on upfront costs, as well as their monthly running costs!
Our New Homes Director James Epps commented:
I loved the Scandinavian style of the houses and their uninterrupted flow, no doubt a result of the benefit of them being built off site. On a winters day when we visited you could also immediately feel the insulation benefits and the Ikea fit was more than a match for many of the major house builder competitors.
We wish Anna and the BoKlok team good luck with the project and look forward to working with them on new projects.
