The Brighton Hove Estate Agents Association recently hosted their much-anticipated 2024 Presidents Cup at West Hove Golf Club, and what a day it turned out to be!
Despite a Yellow Weather Warning, over 50 local property professionals gathered for an afternoon of friendly competition and fundraising, undeterred by the forecast.
Organised by Oakley Lewes Director and former BHEAA President, David Beaken, the event saw estate agents, financial advisors, surveyors, and construction contractors come together for a great cause—raising over £1,700 for the mental health charity Mind. Attendees included teams from local firms who generously contributed to the fundraising efforts.
A huge thank you goes out to our fellow sponsors Wooton & Bean and Foster & Co, as well as the incredible support from The Grand Hotel Brighton, X-Press Legal Services Sussex, and current BHEAA President Harry Mishon from Mishons. We were proud to sponsor the event as part of our commitment to supporting both the local property community and important causes like Mind.
David Beaken expressed his appreciation for everyone who attended, despite the weather concerns,
"I have been on the council of The BHEAA for around 10 years now, had the honour of being President in 2020 and have been organising this event since 2018. The event itself has been running since 1989 and It is a real privilege to be involved with. The weather was horrendous this year but that didn’t stop people coming out and supporting, we had estate agents, solicitors, financial advisors, surveyors, construction teams and all sorts of people from the industry attending. We raised a huge amount of money for MIND and had a brilliant day. Massive thank you to everyone who supported!"
Oakley Property Lettings Director, Murray Kerr, was thrilled with the turnout and the amount raised, commenting on the sense of community and camaraderie throughout the day,
"When I looked at the weather forecast in the morning I knew it was going to be a challenging day for golf, and while my poor old Umbrella will confirm, and never be seen again, we still had great fun raising money for a fantastic charity and got chance to spend some valuable time with our peers, during what is always an enjoyable and well run event by David and the BHEA."
Brighton Director Andy shared his excitement for the event and his delight at the prize he won,
"It’s great to be part of this historic Brighton & Hove tradition. As usual it was a great event, really well organised and supported. I’m very proud of the BHEAA members and guests and the money raised for a great cause on the day. Plus I’m very much looking forward to enjoying my prize for winning "nearest the pin’’ of afternoon tea at The Grand Hotel!"
A special congratulations to Jonathan Howgill, who took home the Presidents Cup! We can’t wait to see everyone again next year for more great golf and fundraising.
