Chris Oakley attends the opening of the new IMEX Head Office in Hove

We were instructed to purchase 10,000 s.ft. of new offices for the international award winning exhibition company in 2017, before Covid and a time when there was no office space in Brighton & Hove. We ended up buying a development site with planning for the offices and 60 apartments and then embarked on a journey to deliver the offices.

Our Executive Chairman Chris Oakley was delighted to attend the official opening of IMEX Events's new HQ offices in Hove last week, where he congratulated the owners Ray Bloom and Carina Bauer.

Oakley Property were instructed to purchase 10,000 s.ft. of new offices for the international award winning exhibition company in 2017, before Covid and a time when there was no office space in Brighton & Hove. We ended up buying a development site with planning for the offices and 60 apartments and then embarked on a journey to deliver the offices. This meant Oakley Property had to project manage a new planning permission for the site, as the original consent was frustrated by a restrictive rights of light covenant, hence the funky stepping design of the scheme. Then we tied up a joint venture development partnership and land sale to developers Martin Homes, and introduced contractors Trinity Homes.

Quite a journey for a local business just to secure the offices they needed in the place they wanted! Chris was also delighted that we even introduced the office fit out contractors 20Six to IMEX, and Oakley Property are now successfully selling the apartments in the Gradino apartment scheme above their new offices.

Chris Oakley comments: "As you can see we really do offer a comprehensive acquisition service, although I hope next time we don't have so many hurdles to jump!".
